Janise and I collaborated for her final photo project at Temple University. Her goal was to actually become the characters and then capture their personality in each photo. We spent hours picking outfits, finding locations and developing each characters unique traits. The result was a hit at the Tyler art gallery.
A couple months ago I took pictures for Parsons student and friend Nancy Park. Now, the pictures are featured on Vogue Italia under Muuse! Muuse is a website that turns fashion grad student’s lines into produced and worn items.

Back during the school year I did a shoot for 215 magazine. The shoot was for a daring makeover from thrift boutique owner Rebecca Roe. Talia and Confidence got the chance to explore a more vibrant and colorful side of fashion mixing prints textures and accessories I didn’t even think were possible. Please check out the 215 magazine website under style to see the full article written by Passion Rutledge or click 215 Magazine to be taken right to the article!
My goal in my fine art photography class was to dig deep and find my artistic side. I wanted to step away from the commercial and journalistic side to look at things in a more abstract manner. I feel as if I really pushed my boundaries on this project and created something totally unique and below the surface. The layers of colors and limbs create depth and the blurring creates motion. The inspiration behind this project was race. I wanted to replace the color of skin with colors we use and mix everyday. If we can mix paint without outcry why can’t we mix skin color as well? Blue and purple fall under the same category of color. Just like all people are under the same category of humans. I’m looking forward to exploring and expanding this project more. I would love to hear feed back so please feel free to comment!
